The ACS is the test map
Each task brings together knowledge, risk management, and skill. It is not only a maneuver list and should be used from the beginning of training, not introduced shortly before the practical test.
Use the codes to close gaps
Knowledge-test reports and instructor feedback can point to ACS codes. Use those codes to locate the related task, then review the references, knowledge elements, risks, and skills together.
Verify the effective version
Open the FAA ACS library before a practical test and confirm the document title, revision, and effective status for the certificate or rating being pursued.
